SSC GD Constable

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts SSC GD Constable exam to recruit various eligible candidates as Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.

SSC GD Constable exam (General Duty) recruits under the recruitment scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC). 

The recruitment process of SSC GD for constable post consist of computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). The candidate needs to qualify each test to get into the final merit list of selected candidates.

Application fee For SSC GD Constable exam 2020

  1. Application fee is Rs 100, for the General/OBC Catogory Male candidates.
  2. Women Candidates and Candidates belongs ot SC/ST/ Ex-Servicemen are exempted from Fee payment.
  3. Application fee can be paid through SBI offline challan or through any Online payment mode.

SSC GD 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility to apply for the SSC GD constable exam is divided into 3 Categories:

  1. Nationality/ Citizenship of the Candidates – Candidate must be a citizen of India. Vacancies are state/UT wise hence a candidate must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT.
  2. Education Qualification: Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/University.
  3. Age Limit: Minimum age- 18 years, Maximum age- 23 years.

Stage-I: Computer Based Examination (CBT) 

CBT is the Objective Type Paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks divided into 4 sections with the following composition:

Stage-IV: Medical Examination

Candidates who qualified all the stages required to go through a detailed medical examination by the medical board constituted by the CAPFs to assess physical and medical fitness of the candidates.
