RRB ALP notification 2020

RRB ALP 2020: Railway recruitment board (RRB) conducts RRB ALP 2020 exam for recruiting Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) & technicians in different railway zones across the country. RRB ALP exam is a multi-stage competitive exam consists of First Stage CBT, Second Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test, and Document Verification. Once the candidates clear all the stage of the exam, RRB releases the final merit list of the selected candidates on their respective regional websites. RRB ALP notification 2020 is yet to be released by the Railway Recruitment Board. 

As per the last RRB ALP notification 2018-19, RRB had announced a total of 64371 vacancies for RRB Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician. RRB has recently announced the final RRB ALP result 2018-19 on 13th December 2019. The candidates who appeared in the exam can check the final list of the selected candidates for the Assistant Loco Pilot & technician on their official regional websites.

RRB ALP notification 2020

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has not released the RRB ALP notification 2020 yet for the recruitment of Assistant Loco pilot (ALP) & Technician. RRB ALP notification gets released on the official RRB website along with regional RRB websites. The candidates have to apply from one of the available regions from where they choose to get employed after getting selected. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) releases the RRB ALP zone vacancy in different railway zones with the release of RRB ALP notification. The released vacancies are tentative as the railway may increase or decease the vacancies as per the requirement of the Railway administration. The candidates have to apply from only one railway zone; multiple applications from different zones may lead to cancel the candidature of the applicant from all the zones.

RRB has not released the RRB ALP notification 2020 yet. Candidates can have an idea from the last released RRB ALP 2018 vacancies as the number of released vacancies is expected to remain similar.

RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria

The RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria is divided into 3 categories. Candidates must look into the eligibility criteria of the exam before applying as they have to provide relevant documents of their eligibility at the time of document verification. Failing to do that leads to the cancellation of the candidature of the qualified candidate. Eligibility criteria are divided on the bases of the below-given criteria:

  1. Nationality/Citizenship  

  2. Education Qualification  

  3. Age limit 

Nationality/ Citizenship:

  • Candidates must be either a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan refugee ………. 

  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination. However, Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India has to be submitted during Document Verification failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected. 

Age Limit:

Age limit for the RRB ALP exam is as follows:

·        Minimum Age- 18 years
·        Maximum Age- 28 years

The lower and upper age limit is common for all the notified posts and the same shall be reckoned as on 01.07.2018.

Education Qualification:

The basic education qualification need for applying the exam is as:

For Assistant Loco Pilot:
Candidates must have matriculation/ SSLC Plus ITI/ Course Completed Act Apprentices or Diploma/ Degree in Engineering.

Technicians:
Candidates must have Matriculation/ SSLC Plus ITI / Course Completed Act Apprentices or 10 + 2 with Physics and Maths or Diploma in Engineering (As Applicable).

RRB ALP Exam Pattern

RRB ALP Exam pattern consists of multiple stages. Candidates have to qualify each stage to get into the final list of the selected candidates for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) & technician post. The stages involved in the exam pattern are:

Important points of RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam:

  • First Stage CBT is qualifying in nature. The Score of First Stage CBT shall be used only for shortlisting candidates for Second stage CBT. 

  • The minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: : UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%. 

  • There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer. 

  • Each question in the 1st stage CBT carries 1 mark. 
  • The paper has 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with the allotted time duration of 60 minutes.  

  • The merit list of the First stage CBT gets released after normalization of marks.

Important points of RRB ALP CBT 2 exam:

  • Railway shortlists a total of around 15 times of candidates from the CBT 1 exam for the RRB ALP CBT 2 exam.

The candidates recruited under RRB ALP & Technician have the basic salary of Rs 19900 under Level 2 of Pay matrix plus Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance (HRA), travelling allowance (TA), Daily Allowance, Medical Allowance, and many other allowances.
